Wednesday Strings
Wednesday Strings offers young string players the opportunity to gain ensemble playing experience whilst making new friends. Students will see improvements in their playing ability and confidence. Most of its repertoire is music specially composed for young string groups.

Wednesday Band
Wednesday Band offers young woodwind, brass and percussion players the opportunity to gain ensemble playing experience. Whilst playing fun repertoire, specially arranged for young bands, students will notice improvements in their playing ability and confidence.

Philharmonic Orchestra
HYM Philharmonic Orchestra gives young musicians the rare opportunity to discover the exciting sound world of orchestral music. Concert programmes are carefully chosen so that members learn the staples of orchestral repertoire whilst also exposing them to modern orchestral compositions. In a balanced environment of encouragement, discovery and challenge, our members thrive.

Theory Classes
All members of HYM can join group Music Theory lessons which take place prior to rehearsals. From beginner to Grade 8, everyone is welcome. HYM’s friendly staff can prepare and enter you for your ABRSM Grade 5 Theory Exam, an essential prerequisite for all instrumental ABRSM Grade 6 Practical Examinations.

Wednesdays 5pm – 6pm
Fridays 5:30pm – 6:30pm
