HYM Senior Band
Conductors: James Wolfe and Anne Fairbank
HYM Senior Band performs arrangements from stage and screen. At the March 2008 concert, the programme included music from Moulin Rogue and Hairspray.
James Wolfe studied at Trinity College of Music. He played principal clarinet for Court Opera for six seasons at Holland Park theatre. After regularly conducting at the HYM summer course, he joined HYM as conductor of the Junior Band in July 2002. For a number of years James has conducted the Finchley Symphonic Concert Band raising over £3,500 for the British Heart Foundation. In March 2005 he was appointed conductor of the Barnet Band. James has been teaching woodwind for Harrow Music Service for the last 19 years.
Anne Fairbank studied bassoon and piano at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She played in West End shows including Miss Saigon. Anne has been teaching woodwind for the Harrow Music Service for 14 years and has recently become responsible for organising all its music festivals.
