HYM Junior Band

For many wind, brass and percussion players, HYM Junior Band provides the first experience of HYM. The Band was formed 16 years ago and was for many years conducted by Alison Bell. It is now conducted by Kay Warner and by Steven Byron, who also conducts HYM Symphonic Winds.

Kay graduated from Guildhall in 1984 and has been working as a teacher and freelance bassoonist since. Kay plays regularly with members of the BBC Symphony and BBC Concert Orchestra. She has made recordings for Classic FM and Radio 3 and has played on various, videos and television incidental music. In recent years Kay has become very involved in encouraging music making in her local community of Harefield. She directs a thriving choir and band in the village and runs a music club in the infants school.
