HYM Academy Strings
Conductors: Fay Millard and Fran Newbery
HYM Academy Strings was formed in 1976 and gives our youngest string players the first opportunity of ensemble playing. Previous conductors have included Barrie Townsend, Richard George and Hazel Correa. For many years it made trips to Brittany, France, giving concerts in Cancale, St Pern and Dinard.
Fay Millard is a former student of HYM. After completing her studies, Fay enjoyed a year working in Australia and now teaches for Harrow Music Service.
Fran Newbery is the Cello Tutor for HYM and recently took on the role of conducting and HYM group.
HYM Academy Strings performed at the Christmas Concert, December 2007.
